Having studied Art Directon in Buenos Aires and in London, and having previously worked as a Kids Photographer in London, mothers have often asked me if I would document births by taking pictures or by filming.
I do. But if its in a birth where I am also there to 'doula', then this is my approach:
Labours can be unpredictable, and as a Doula, one never knows if the role will be more 'active' than passive. These things are usually adjusted at the moment and depending on how things go. So whilst assisting a birth, and because I feel that the Doula role is more important than photographing, I will always prioritise it.
As long as the circumstance and atmosphere enable it, I will be more than happy to be the person who documents your birth too. I believe my Doula skills help me to be as discreet as possible, respecting your space and by not interfering ;)
Of course, I am also available to presence your birth by only taking pictures.
And finally, I also offer to photograph mums when they're pregnant and/or once their baby is born!
If you're interested on any of these oprtions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

A mummy's feedback:
"My husband and I are thrilled with the experience we had with Sabrina as our Birth Photographer during the birth of our first child and we highly recommend her.
Sabrina captured moments right before, during and after the birth, including the first moments we held our son, my husband cutting the umbilical cord and my husband giving him his first bath. We were blown away by how beautiful and meaningful each photo was and is to us.
As a Photographer, Sabrina is careful and discreet and we were not constantly aware of her presence, but we were able to focus on the birth and on our son while she took the pictures.
The light in the room was dim and we were exhausted from the birth, yet her pictures were gorgeous, and we will treasure them."

These are a few shots of a birth I assisted (to respect and protect families' privacy, I cannot post all the pictures and I will always ask for their approval first, when and if I post any).
