""It is important to keep in mind that our bodies must work pretty well, or there wouldn't be so many humans on the planet."

Ina May Gaskin, Midwife and Author.

As a Birth Doula I will offer:

- A free introductory meeting. This way, we can get to know each other and see how we feel about everything without any commitments :)

- At least two prenatal home visits. It is strongly encouraged that your partner, if applicable, is present in at least one of them. These usually last 1 to 2 hours.

- In these sessions, we will explore and discuss all your birth preferences and wishes to build up a written Birth "Plan" (or Birth Wish, as some of us prefer to call it). We will also discuss different ways in which your partner can support you. We will work through any possible anxiety, issue or emotional blockage you may have; and discuss which are your preferences for coping with labour, etc.

- I will be available for you through your pregnancy from the moment you book me by email, text message or phone.

- I will offer you helpful material such as a reading list, website list, useful articles and documentaries you might want to read or watch during your pregnancy.

- I will be on call 24/7 during your week 38 until you go into labour.

- Once you go into labour, I will join you whenever you feel you need me and accompany you from your home to the hospital, or in the case you are having a home birth, I will help you bed-down before the midwives arrive.

- I will be there as a continuos emotional, physical and informational support from the moment I join you in labour, until you and your baby are settled (this is usually after 1 or 2 hours the baby is born).

- I will offer you any help or assistance you may need with breastfeeding.

- After birth, I will visit you at your home once again. This will be useful to go over and process your birth experience. I will provide you with any other practical, informational or emotional assistance you may need.

- I will support you by phone, email or text message and assist you with any additional questions you may have about the postnatal period, the baby, breastfeeding and/or any other area for 30 days after your baby is born.

A mummy's feedback:

"We are so happy Sabrina was our Doula during the birth of our first child, and we highly recommend her!

Sabrina is a skilled, empathetic, knowledgeable Doula, and we feel so lucky to have had her with us as we prepared for and experienced the birth! She is such a positive person, so it was a joy to work with her. We couldn't have had the birthing experience we had without Sabrina.

When Sabrina first met with us, the three of us instantly connected. My husband and I felt that she was open-minded about our desires regarding the birth, and she knew so much that she was able to bring up topics for discussion that we had not yet considered. All of the discussions we had with Sabrina prior to the birth helped us mentally prepare for a natural birth. Her encouragement and expertise were key to helping us follow through.

Besides helping us sculpt our birthing plan, Sabrina gave us a toolbox of coping mechanisms for the contractions, and she was physically and mentally a part of implementing them in the moment. Her calm presence and physical assistance in the delivery room created an ideal environment for us. We feel that she gave us something very special in helping us with our son's birth, and we hope she will help us when any future siblings come along!"
