then someone isn't treating her right."

My Story

It started when a mum I worked for in London was pregnant. There was a chance her husband wouldn’t be in town for when their baby arrived, so if this were to happen, she asked me if I would be her Doula. I had never heard that word before, but I think it was because she knew how passionate I am about pregnancy, childbirth, babies and mothering, that made her feel I could do it.

In the end, the dad did make it, so I sadly missed that chance. Despite this, I will be forever grateful to her: she pressed a button that was longing to be pressed. She believed in me and introduced me into this world I didn’t know about, but which felt perfectly tailored for me – after doing my research, and gobbling up all of Ina May Gaskin’s books (my hero) I knew this was the journey I wanted to embark.

Sabrina was born and raised in Argentina, but her parents are Finnish.

Ever since she was a child, she would sneak into her parents’ bookshelf and take her mum’s first pregnancy guide: "Baby and Child", by Penelope Leach. She was already then interested in how babies come into this world.

Sabrina finds birth one of the most interesting and beautiful processes nature has created. And because many times it is not respected, she feels the urge of helping mums to empower themselves. She takes this as a privilege.

Trying to be as sustainable as possible, Sabrina and her partner love to discover new ways of living a conscious life. She enjoys eating delicious vegetarian meals and practises Ashtanga Yoga 6 days a week. She loves nature and travelling is her inspiration.

Sabrina has lived in Hackney, East London (UK) for about 6 years where she calls it home, but she has recently moved to Amsterdam (Netherlands).

Sabrina has had the privilidge to take part in an exclusive workshop run by legendary Ina May Gaskin in Amsterdam.

Back in London, she has taken the Paramana Doula Course under the guidance of childbirth pioneer Dr. Michel Odent and Liliana Lammers.

She has also attended Indira Lopez-Bassols' highly educative Breastfeeding Course.

Sabrina is currently under the recognition process of a
Doula UK Certification, mentored by Bridget Baker (head of Doula UK Association). She is also a member of Doula UK.

Please feel free to check her profile on their website.*
